Italian Sausage Seasoning

I have a hard time finding sausage that isn't full of junk.  And then when I do, it is usually pricey. So, like Laura and Brooke, I have been working on it. I'm still working on a breakfast sausage I really like, but here is a pretty good Italian sausage blend. Makes one pound.


Ingredients:

1 1/2 teaspoon salt
3 1/2 teaspoons paprika
2/3 teaspoon garlic powder
2/3 teaspoon fennel seeds
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Directions:

Mix together above ingredients.  Stir into one pound of ground meat--whatever you have.  Let sit in the refrigerator for a few hours before you use the sausage.  This is GREAT in spaghetti sauce.
